Take a look at Interfoods of America Inc.(IFDA). They are the largest Popeyes Chicken & Biscuit franchisee in the United States and the only one that is publicly owned.

IFDA is pursuing an aggressive acquisition strategy, most recently the company acquired 37 Popeyes restaurants in January 2000,for a total of 91 restaurants in six markets and will now have annualized revenue of approx. $80 mil.

IFDA is profitable. Their most recent quarter earnings were .05 and the trailing twelve months earnings were .06.

The company's 2nd quarter financials ending March 31, should be released within the next three weeks and should reflect the revenues for the 37 stores acquired in January.

With only 5.72 million shares outstanding and a recently announced stock buy- back program, implemented by the company, to buy up to 10% of the company's common stock.

IFDA trading today 05 02 00..... The ask price exploded from the open of 1 1/32 and surged to 1 7/8 on heavy buying, and then when the buying dried up,the MM's walked it down very quickly with small sells, closing at 25/32 x 1,total volume was approx. 156,000 shares traded, which is heavy for IFDA.
I can't help but believe someone or some group started buying today in anticipation of earnings,or news,or both.

I believe IFDA is very much undervalued and I've brought it to the attention of several stock picking groups as a candidate for their DD and a recommendation to buy. It looks like one of them may have started buying today. I have no proof of this,it's just a guess.
