Thanks Steve for asking: Here is what is planned. We are meeting our "Tauck" tour for a couple nights at the Tucson Westin La Paloma Resort then we drive across the border to Nogales where we will board the Sierra Madre Express and begin our Mexican rail journey through the State of Sonora. Over night on the train. The second day we journey into the Copper Canyon arriving for a two night stay at the Posada Barrancas Mirador, located on the rim of the Copper Canyon. We have also paid for a helicopter trip from this area. Day 4 We once again board the train far a day trip to Creel. We visit Tarahumara community and cave dwellings. We will have time to check out their crafts of baskets, dolls, etc. made by the Native Anerican Tarahumara tribe. Day 5 We depart by train to El Fuerte. Staying at the Posada Hidalg in El Fuerte overnite. Will have time for a walking tour of El Fuerte. Day 6 We depart by train to Navajoa and tour the village of Alamos and then returning to the train in Navajoa for overnight on board as we continue thought the night towards Nogales. Day 7 We will top off the trip by visiting Sabino Canyon before arriving back at the Westin La Paloma in Tucson for our last evening. BTW--I will be bringing my Globalstar phone and trying to check it out while I am on this trip......I will be calling some of the posters on this board so they might post if they hear from me and how well they could hear me. Polvie had sent me a video of this trip. So I will be calling him to let him know if it is any thing like the video......and of course to check on the market.
