T, i have a big QQQ short that i also regard as a great sell-and-hold so to speak. now and then when the market looks oversold i buy calls to hedge it and sell them as soon as it looks overbought again. but right now i feel the NAZ may have entered a secular bear market, and will ultimately drift much lower.
last year i lost a bit on my options trades overall, but made more than up for that this year (so far that is). anyway, i use only a very small portion of my assets for option trades...and i regularly sacrifice a bunch of MU puts to the market gods...:)
