Rick, DDI is traded on the Nikkei, so it has a public float. I think KYO's is the main "control" position; don't know if there are any cross-holdings with TYO.

Diamond Re: DDI ownership

ddi.co.jp

and some IDO info (Toyota majority owner)

IDO Corporation

IDO is proud to be the first operator to offer Japanese customers a truly global wireless standard via our
cdmaOne? Super Digital service, offered nationwide with our partner DDI Corporation

IDO (with DDI) is also the first in the world cdmaOne? operator to launch WAP-based microbrowser internet
service with our EZAccess product. This provides connectivity for over 100 separate web-sites - both
domestic and international ? to a rapidly growing customer base, expanding in the 10,000s per month.
Additionally, we plan to soon introduce high-speed packet data services and promote mobile computing
solutions.

The cdmaOne? global standard will also allow us to be the first and only Japanese operator to offer genuine
automatic international handset roaming, starting with partners in Asia at the beginning of 2000.

IDO Corporation is one of Japan?s largest cellular operators with over 3 « million subscribers generating over
US$4-billion in annual revenue, with 63% ownership share by Toyota Motors Corporation. IDO serves the
heaviest concentration of Japanese population and economy, the Kanto region including metropolitan Tokyo
area and the Chubu region including Nagoya (major automotive center) and Nagano (site of 1998 Winter
Olympics). IDO operates major network operations centers in both Tokyo and Nagoya, as well as a North
American R&D facility, IDO-Lab, in Seattle.
