I have been using the CEF's on South American Rummy Economies for put buying. This has been quite successful.

I have not worked with closed end funds. Only no load mutuals.

I find this method effective only if the the US market has a BIG MOVE in the afternoon. Modest moves will not cut it.

Currency movements must also be tracked to get a good estimate of what an internationalk fund might do.
