There is no doubt that AMD is on a roll right now. The question is can they maintain it. If they can keep Athlon production up and get all necessary ancillary designs in place to support the product, and get the OEMs to support them, and maintain anticipated profitability through the coming war with Intel, then they have it made.

Frankly, from a Rambus investor's viewpoint a stronger (but not too strong <g>) AMD is not a bad thing. Intel has the determination and the pocketbook to succeed in the chip wars and, AS LONG AS THEY STAY COMMITTED TO RAMBUS, Rambus will benefit from that determination and deep pocketbook.

I do not believe for one moment that Intel is not watching every move of AMD like a pacing tiger. When and how to strike is the question. Hey, AMD may slay the tiger, or get him to pick on somebody else for a while.

Should be a fun summer.
