With all the staking going on I'm sure the next set of results are going to be as good or better than the last set!!

International Wayside Gold Mines Ltd IWA
Shares issued 27,403,013 2000-05-01 close $2.2
Tuesday May 2 2000
Mr. J. Frank Callaghan reports
The company has acquired additional ground in the vicinity of the Cariboo gold project, near Wells, B.C.
Under a letter of agreement signed April 20, 2000, the company will transfer 12,000 common shares of International Wayside Gold Mines jointly to Evan Williams and Douglas Warren Merrick in return for 75-per-cent interest in the following mineral tenures:
Tom 48 -- 375440
Tom 70 -- 375441
Tom 72 -- 375442
These acquisitions constitute consolidation of the company's ground in the historic Wells Barkerville area in northeast-central British Columbia. The company recently acquired mineral tenures from Mr. Williams, Mr. Merrick and Melvin Lee Zeiler and joint ventures with Gold City Industries on the Promise, Myrtle and Proserpine properties as well as properties from John Bot.
Two Longyear 38 drills producing NQ core (2.37 inch) will be moving to the new discovery area, located near the footwall of the B.C. vein. The NQ drilling program will allow for deeper drilling and larger, more representative core samples of mineralization.

Rocketred,

I am neither long or short IWA.

Does IWA have good title to the claims? Who actually has legal ownership and the right to issue mineral rights and permits is moot until there is a native land claims settlement over that part of BC, or has there been a land claim settled over this area already? Which native band or tribe(s) claim this area? Has IWA negotiated an accord of any kind with the natives? If the natives win a land claim over this area, what guarantees are there that the natives will negotiate a deal with IWA? Should a native band win a land claim here, expropriation will become an issue. In that event, as with Windy Craggy, there are no winners, except the lawyers. For more insight into the land claims issue in B.C. and its impact:
