Fed up--bailing on TD Waterhouse. I am considering switching to E*Trade Canada. Can anyone give me feedback on their experience with E*Trade (or any other online discount broker)? - - - - Here is my story with TD Waterhouse in case anyone wants to read my growsings. They instituted a "research" section with a variety of products. It worked for me for a while but then it quit. I spent more than 8 hours on the telephone--waiting for an assistant mostly!--and, who knows, how many hours (at least 5) exchanging e-mails trying to get the problem cleared up. At first, I got no response at all from e-mails--it took two weeks to get them to respond. Then, the response was on/off--I'd get contacted but the guy wouldn't follow up, even when I extracted a promise they'd get back to me. I asked for the telephone number of the corporate officer in charge of TD Waterhouse and they wouldn't give that to me. I asked for his/her name. Nope, couldn't have that either. (I stayed very polite throughout--it's best for my blood pressure and also most likely to bring a speedy solution. Least, that's what I thought.) I told them early that they should put a single person on the job so I would not have to keep describing over and over the problem details _and_ so I would not have to tell the new person over and over that their suggested solutions have been tried and wouldn't work..... I never got a response to that. But, one day they got busy and there was a five day stretch of regular contact between me and an unsigned person(s?)! Yea! But, the whole thing ended when they sent me an e-mail stating flatly that they had done everything they were going to do. That was it. So, now I have this account with TD Waterhouse and cannot use all the features. I just opened an E*Trade 30 free no-trade test account and it works fine. I hate to move my money but I am 95% cash at this point so if I am going to move, now's the time. Ciao, David Todtman
