Magnatizer,

Thanks again to you and everyone for the help. When I worked on your tip I guess I got the impression that holding the ball for the swing would be ok too. I will try it again when the range is not packed. I must have looked pretty strange with a golf ball popping out of my armpit.

As for the grip I could not agree more. It is the foundation of the entire swing, and without a good one you cannot expect good results.

I think the new smaller grips got me to compensate and throw my normal swing out of wack. The grips I put on were the full cord Golf Pride and my buddy hits them just fine. I put them on after a couple of week with the new Ping I3 grip. IMO another example that new is not always better. The I3 grip is much harder to hold than the old Ping Dylagrip. So Dylagrips back on, make them bigger like before, and the grip and confidence return.

I have thought a lot about this small vs. large grip concept and how it relates to the release of the club. I was so perplexed the last week or two that I was even thinking about getting smaller grips. Reminds me of one of Pennick's thoughts. Golf instruction is like asprin. One or two might help you but the whole bottle will kill you. When my swing goes out I start looking for a bottle.

Got to remember to just take one at a time next time the swing goes out, and we all know that it will.

Have a good one and play soon.

TH
