I don't care if 99 people out of 100 agrees with you

I submit that you are required to care what the investing public thinks about ATHM, otherwise what "greater fool" will buy it when you wish to sell ? You are also required to deduce some change in the underlying fundamentals, which has eluded the masses, in order to make a long term commitment to the company. If you don't, you will fall victim to the winds of perception that blow in all directions... buffeting the share price and forcing you to become a "trader". The share price will disconnect from whimsical perceptions only when fundamental change takes on a life of its own. At that point reality steps in and perception fades to the background.

I assert that management is responsible for shareholder value and that if "99 people out of 100 " thinks their stock is worth dog dirt, they need to take a serious look at their convictions. On a a practical basis, what currency will they use to attract talent and compete ?

So... what catalyst for fundamental change do you see that is invisible to that 99% ?
