thecow, " Hitting shots that land like a butterfly with sore feet will get you more birdies" That is a new mental image for me to use. I hear you on the spin, but I have a semi-natural draw and the only club that gets me into trouble with overspin/sidespin is the driver. That is exactly why I only hit the driver on average about twice per 18. There needs to be a lot of room on the right for it because that club does not draw. The hole needs to be over 520 to justify it anyway as I hit the 3 just about as far and with a decent draw. The Strata is not a long ball, but rather average. They putt great. You might be right about the fracture, its never been the same and its never going to be. Adapt or die. I also got hit by some crazy person at 50 plus miles an hour when I was at a dead stop. This really messes up your game for a few years too, lol. Now for the Tiger and his dad thing. I offer the following excerpts from the article. I first heard this on the radio and could not believe it. So I went looking for this month old SI and found it in my doctors office. Er, enjoy. "Tiger stood over the ball. He heard the voice of his father, Earl, high and hollow, sounding in his head. He didn't know where it was coming from. Memory? Fear? Earl insists that he can do this anytime, talk to his son when he's on the other side of the course, talk to him through a television set all the way at the other end of the earth. Earl did it that day from his hotel room in Chicago, softly speaking to his son's image as it glowed on the screen: Tiger. This is a must-make putt. Trust your stroke. Trust your stroke (use the force luke...ok that was mine)". More follows about how Tiger first claimed he could "hear" this during the junior world championship when he was 12. He does just wear one glove you know. Anyway, the rest of this article is focused on the who, what, where, when, and why of Tiger Woods. And its very balanced. It says Tiger is a good guy, he is ruthless and driven, but has a heart of gold. And he is good for the game and everyone who plays it. I agree. Have a good one. I get to wack it with some customers tomorrow on a new Rees Jones course that just opened. Its an old school course and looks interesting. TH
