I thought this was interesting. It is a clip out of the recent SBC/Cisco news release. I must have missed it before.

"With line-sharing, CLECs that have been using SDSL [Symmetric DSL] based on the 2B1Q line coding will be moving to ADSL [Asymmetric DSL] since that is specified in the line sharing order." Line sharing is a federally mandated opening of voice lines to add data services from competitive carriers, which can use ADSL to deliver data without interfering with the voice service.

I did not realize that SDSL was not going to work for the line sharing. It requires ADSL. Very interesting.
