Ken-Concerning the Metro market: Is it a matter of 1) we must increase our capacity now because the system is getting too close to collapse 2) we would like to increase our capacity because it's more efficient and we see increasing demand mostly from the Internet 3) we believe in a "field of dreams", built it and customers will come 4) we are doing it because everybody else is doing it. 5) all or none of the above
If there isn't a big sense of urgency, price will be the biggest factor. More volume is needed to lower the price, yet lower prices are needed for more volume. The old conundrum. I don't doubt that this is all going to happen eventually, I just wonder whether the current breakneck pace will continue after the intercity backbone is built up.
