Joan, the why is actually simple: in spite of SNB sales commencing, the shorts couldn't take the PoG down further. so the conclusion was, if it doesn't fall anymore, it's going to rise. furthermore the group is really THE most washed out sector. everybody who wanted to sell has already sold. in addition to that, the inflation genie is out of the bottle, and since the Fed is printing money at an absolutely feverish pace to keep the bubble afloat, it won't be easy to put it back.
SIL's for real.

regards,
