haqi, in an earlier post I said you were a curmudgeon. It would have been more accurate to say that you are a gentleman who usually walks softly, and you are not without humor. Curmudgeonliness is but a facet of your personality. I meant no offense, as curmudgeons are some of my favorite people.

I admire the dedication to cause that you and others have regarding pro-life. It's my opinion that the leaders in the pro-life movement will sell you out to the pols every time when it comes to a constitutional amendment. They are like Lucy playing you for Charlie Brown. I don't know any alternative, but the current approach has not worked, is not working, and is designed not to work.

People need to understand that abortion is wrong as a matter of justice. Scientific and philosophical arguments need to be constructed. The current crop of pro-life leaders seem to have no interest in doing this. They are comfortable in their office suites in Washington, and they have a great fund raising mechanism in place now. It behooves them to keep things as they are.

Haqi, of course the "shrinking violet," helpless woman line was a total joke. It made me laugh when I wrote it and I figured it would make you laugh, too.

I'm very pleased with the way things have turned out, appreciate the quality of loyalty you showed to your friend, apologize to you and him for my lapses in civility, and also express my appreciation for the spirit of this friendly post. Thank you!
