George, the pullback in lease rates is due to the SNB beginning to sell. that alleviates the physical supply shortage in the short term. in any case, i'm a fan of buying low...and that's what one can now do with the gold stocks. since the whole industry (globally) has a capitalization 1/3 that of CSCO alone, not much can go wrong. i still expect a wave of consolidation in the sector to commence soon. the parabolic spike in the dollar index will exhaust itself at some point, and then the metals will likely begin to rally in earnest.
note also the extreme situation in the physical silver market i have mentioned here on occasion. it's a tinderbox awaiting a spark.

regards,

hb
