Funny, but it seems like every time there is good BlueMt news ATHM goes up. Maybe just coincidence. BM was probably a good purchase for Excite proper, but not ATHM. The anti-synergies of the merger have hurt Excite almost as much as ATHM. This thread typically looks at the problem from the ATHM point of view, but if you were an XCIT holder you might be more interested in developing compelling content and that includes BM.
If they had bought a broadband content company doing VOD or VOIP or something, there may have been some synergy.

'Nut and 'Griff were proud to announce
they had bought the bottom for a bounce.
Can they give us guidance
what they're doing now
as she sinks with glory
going down with the DOW?
Will they tell us when
we and they should sell
when picked bottoms
don't work out so well?

gpowell,

Add Excite's eyeballs which I'm sure can be sold for at least $1/eyeball and you have what appears to be a compelling business. Enough of this broadband network/content delivery thing. I've been wrong all along.

Gather eyeballs and sell them to Blue Mountain on the holidays since they need them on those days. Excite and "BM" are owned by the same company so "BM" can get their bags of eyeballs on-the-cheap while everyone else has to pay the full $1. Wait 'til this idea gains traction.
