That is one of the most eloquent defenses of the 2nd amendment I've read in a while. Good job!

Some states (Connecticut and New York come to mind) are like labs for what the feds may be able to get away with some day. Every year there are more restrictions on buying firearms. In addition to felonies, in Connecticut they have added 15 or so misdemeanors that would prohibit a person from owning a firearm.

The insidious thing is that by the stroke of a pen, the governor created criminals overnight! The law reached back in time, so if you had one of these misdemeanors on your record, you were required to turn your guns in to your local chief of police.

Some said it could never happen....

Hear hear. The Bill of Rights is a package. Trash one, trash-em all.

I consider it a canary in the mine issue. If gun rights are snuffed ( except by repealing the 2nd ) freedom dies.
