Gee, no mention of this important aspect of the drugging of Elian in this story or the other wrap-ups at Fox. Hmmmmm. Character building indeed.

Jumpit, just a little misunderstanding. You wrote: "I believe the story has also been picked up by The Washington Times and Fox News" and included in your post this story:

<<Greg Craig Snubs Elian Drug Reports

Greg Craig, the one-time Clinton impeachment
attorney who now represents Juan Miguel
Gonzalez, has declined to respond to reports
earlier this week that a Cuban doctor was caught
carrying tranquilizers to Maryland's Wye River
Plantation, the temporary home of 6-year-old
Elian Gonzalez.>>

I still don't think the Washington Times would ever print a story about a lawyer stonewalling and a bunch of allegations. In any event, that's the story I was reacting to. The story from yesterday or the day before about the Cuban doctor and Customs, which was referenced in the story in question but not the subject of it, I thought had already been published in the mainstream press. Done deal. I wasn't thinking about the old news at all when I responded to you.

RE the Washington Times article about the Cuban doctor and her drugs:

I thought that was written in a manner befitting a professional news organization. Not so the NewsMax story. Put them side by side and see the difference. NewsMax deserves credit for getting the scoop but not for the reporting of it. NewsMax often publishes news not found elsewhere, which I why I sometimes use it as a reference. But I wouldn't accept anything they say without outside verification.

RE the little black bag itself:

If Elian were being drugged since just after he left Miami, there must have been a source for drugs at Wye, which means that there would have been no reason for the Cuban doctor to schlep them all the way from Cuba. If, OTOH, they needed the Cuban doctor to bring the drugs, then they must not have access to any, so Elian could not have been drugged earlier. Either way, the doctor's little black bag indicates that Elian has not been drugged. I don't see how the story of the doctor and her run-in with Customs helps the case of those who think Elian's smile is drug induced.
