Juan and the mother had shared custody. To accomodate the mother's work schedule Eli n would often spend the night with his father, up to five nights a week at times shortly before the marine episode. Read the background on this, you could post in a more informed manner.

There is nothing to indicate that the mother was ism-motivated, that she would now want to keep Eli n and his father separate ... they were on very good and friendly terms, cooperating well on the raising of their son.

... with that i'll leave you ... more capitalism stuff -g- ... ch u

Just caught this--( I think our Billlllll Rambiiiiiiiii- sounds like Ricky and Lucy- or maybe Jeannette McDonald and Nelson Eddy singing the Indian Love Call) anyway-Marcos seems to have handled the question well.
You know, divorce, shared custody, second families, these are not exactly unknown in our fair country. And again, I apologize for being repetitious, but these are not indicative of paternal (or maternal) neglect.
And now, there is just one family.
Juan, Elian, wife and baby.
