johnd: They are just as happy to see the price remain low until they can buy some back. They have to be able to buy low and sell how to the option pool. I have heard MSFT talk about lower earnings before. I have owned this stock for 11 years and they are always guiding lower. It was an anomaly that Maffei guided higher on one occasion. Hang in there MSFT was a rock in a very large down draft. Building a nice bottom and a platform from which to take off from. Cheer up you are letting all these anti-MSFT carpetbaggers grind you down. What other stock with the leadership of MSFT (if there is such a thing) has that low a PE. It is a buy! Here is a company that was doing so well that the competition had to call the cops on a trumped up charge. As for Ballmer he thinks he is being sly. Hang in there.JFD
