Dave & Allan, Thanks for the long term perspective. Inflation does make a difference. Here is another example I think - Bob Brinker has from time to time given gift horse buying calls. I have noted that this, coincidentally I'm sure, has corresponded to the NYSE 30 week turning up from 50% or below: Dec 94, Jul 96, Apr 97, Jan 98, Jul 98 (short lived), Sep 98 (for the 30 week only) and OCT 99 (no gift horse but a bottom). Note that the 30week turned up in Jan 00 and for the first time, we did not have a big rally. BB also wasn't bullish here and was worried about inflation. Today the 30week turns up from below 50% and if we don't rally, it could be because of inflation. The big guy sums it up in one word - inflation siliconinvestor.com Thanks again.
