Howard, I'm an engineer that DOESN'T work at Maxim, and I can tell you that there are more than a couple Maxim products that are used in cell phones.

You can find Maxim chips in nearly every cell phone on the market today. Power management devices are especially prevalent. But, the next generation cell phones will contain many of the devices produced using Maxim's Si-Ge (Silicon-Germanium) process. (For high speed, GigaHertz applications) If you are interested in seeing the whole cell-phone, portable communication device line-up, check out the Maxim-IC.com site.
Maxim is also involved in the new "Bluetooth" initiative. The first Bluetooth enabled devices should hit the market later this year, and could be the first of a new wave of wireless networking products. Check out the Bluetooth.com SIG site for more info.
