Sudan Welcomes British Investment, Says Minister
Text of report in English by Sudanese news agency Suna

Khartoum, 28th April: Federal Minister of Industry and Investment Dr Abd al-Halim al-Mut'afi received at his office [on] Thursday [27th April] the visiting British delegation, headed by Lord McNair.

The meeting reviewed the Sudan's potentialities and capabilities and the available investment opportunities in the country.

The minister has lauded the Sudanese-British relations, pointing out that Sudan is keen to strengthen its relations with all the European states within the framework of its external policy which is based on setting up close relations with all the countries in the world.

Lord McNair, meanwhile, explained that his visit aims at getting acquainted with the economic and political developments in the Sudan, and to push forward the bilateral cooperation.

The meeting also touched on the commercial exchange between Sudan and Britain.
The minister affirmed Sudan welcomed British investments in all fields in the country.

Khartoum, May 2 (SUNA)- The Ambassador of Britain to Sudan, Mr. Richard Makepeace, has praised the efforts of Sudan to normalize its relations with neighbouring countries and the recent improvement in that relations, a matter that boosts the security and stability of the region.
