What has really changed is the market's realization that there is another factor to worry about. That is direct government intervention. The microsoft case brings home how easily things can be screwed up. And there is great concern that the damage has been done.

It's not just energy, other commodities and wages are also going up.

An increase in energy prices will inevitably cause an increase in the costs of producing all other commodities, travel, transportation, manufacturing, etc. When the price of oil goes down, those costs will reduce as well.

In spite of their bloated self-esteem, the Fed really has nothing to do with it.
