Bob, I can't understand how the rally got this far unless the XAU, as a leading economic indicator, is in the early stages of discounting something here.

Picture this......A large hedge fund or brokerage house announces that they are unable to meet certain financial obligations due to derivative related losses. Investors flock to the ultimate value investment, gold. There is a relatively small market cap in the miners, and a surge in demand for the shares pushes up the shares. Could be similar to the move in net stocks months ago....scotty
