Jim - you were close - click the "security" tab for cookie options, not "advanced"... only "high security" disables cookies, unless you specifically disable them. "medium" is good for most users...

Can someone tell me how to enable IE5 to "always accept cookies"?
I tried tools-internet options-advanced but can't find a box to check. I must be in the wrong place...

tools->internet options->security

Medium or less security always accepts cookies, I believe. You can customize a High security to accept cookies.
