I'm sure they're selling them. But they aren't pushing them. You don't get very far without prominent window displays, brochures, etc.

Like RS wrote, you can find the press releases on the Radiolinja website - but if you go to the Finnish language page that talks about services aimed at consumers, there's only the usual GSM stuff:

radiolinja.fi

And if you go to the "business services" page, it's the same story:

radiolinja.fi

So... any English language browser at Radiolinja runs into Globalstar press releases. But actual, real-world Finnish consumers going to the service pages only find references to terrestrial GSM roaming services.

Radiolinja isn't hiding Globalstar - but it's not doing anything about it, either.

It's a similar situation in Sweden and some other countries. I don't speak that many languages, so I haven't checked out the situation in Netherlands, Romania, Portugal, Poland, etc. But I suspect that the local operator support in many markets is marginal at best.

Many of these countries are marginal - but they shouldn't be called "active" if they aren't that.

Veiko - the Radiolinja ads featuring naked, ugly Finns are the *best* ads I have ever seen. They really stick to your mind. And every American that has seen them remembers them forever - they can't believe a mobile operator is showing genitals on prime time television ads. It's a brilliant concept. They should open an American branch and buy some Superbowl halftime slots.

The message is "Absolute Freedom"!
