Seamus ... About W2k

>>>CPQ has a big investment in W2K being a success. Therefore, NOVL's problems are a good sign for CPQ.<<<

My understanding is that the three major Network Operating Systems (NOS) for PC servers (intel based) are W2K (55%), Linux (23%), and Netware (19%). CPQ is the market share leader for the overall PC servers by a wide margin (more than 2 to 1 over the closest competitor, Dell). Also, CPQ is the market share leader for the three NOS's. Accordingly, it seems to me variations in market share of the three NOS's wouldn't affect CPQ much as long as CPQ maintains or increases its overall market share.

I could be somewhat over my head here, and anyone is welcome to correct me.

>>>Is that a QED?<<<

Sorry, don't know what 'QED' stands for.
