I don't think $3 will turn out optimistic at all. Once past breakeven a huge portion of revenues drop to the bottom line. The quarter will pick up due to seasonal strength, and AMD should be dominant performance wise in all areas. ASP's should rise as they go to a much larger percentage of athlons, there is a chance of some business penetration, also the socket motherboards will cut costs increasing gross margin.

All in all, I think we'd only have to do about 400M better in revenue than Q1, and that should be possible.
