thanks...i was actually subscribing to his monthly service and am pondering whether to continue or not...i find his general commentary on the markets and the social mood surrounding the mania quite entertaining. his calls are of varying quality as it were. he made some excellent calls on the Asian markets last year but he's been a bear on US stocks forever. however, the short term calls on US stocks were at times quite good, unlike the macro calls.
anyway, he's been wrong often enough to keep my hopes for gold intact. note that below $200 the better part of current production would be unprofitable. while i won't close my mind to the possibility, there would probably be enough closures along the way to make that target unlikely. note also that last year's plunge to the 250's had all the hallmarks of capitulation.
