Dear Milo:

I think that AMD's 750 can run with SDRAM at same speed as CPU FSB. It is synchronized. Thus, if the reason why bus speeds of 133(266) could not be done on Slot A due to issues with CPU board, Slot A socket, Motherboard, or a combination thereof, the AMD 750 may be able to really run at 133(266 DDR) FSB. The KX-133 may not be able to handle the FSB at 133 (266 DDR) where the KZ-133 can. This may be the problem with the KX-133 and why AMD 750's can still run with Thunderbirds. But AMD has said nothing, to allow Via to save face (an important thing in the Far East). I am pretty sure AMD warned Via that 133 (266 DDR) was coming down the pike (but Via did not think it would be this fast).

Anything here is pure speculation and those in the know are not talking. It may be some slight timing problem where Via cut it too close (and now will have to pay for it). Perhaps Ali and Sis will take this to heart and make sure their stuff works before shipping it out. (of course it would be helpful to have some "Rocket Lot" Samples of Mustang to make sure.
