I am surprised at how much you are paying. In the
Phoenix, Arizona area we live in a 4100 sq ft house
(1800 of that is basement). In the summer we pay
about $250 maximum, including the A/C for 115 degree
temperatures in an all-electric house. In the other
8 months we pay more like $80-100.

In Los Angeles we had gas for heating water and the
house. Our total utility bills were half what we
have paid in Arizona.

Sounds to me like you are getting soaked.

The OBVIOUS QUESTION is........... how much is TAXES?

We don't think heat pump would work well here because the temperatures can drop into the teens in the winter. It doesn't often happen, but it can.

The company has sold Bryant furnaces for 30 years or so. They have also tried others. I hope it's good because it sure ain't cheap although natural gas is inexpensive when compared to oil.

And b4 I had a chance to call the oil company yesterday to tell them that we didn't want any more oil, they happened to stop by and fill our tank! (g)

You just can't win sometimes! (g)
