E3: Activision's PS2 Slate Announced

Demonstrating its commitment to the PS2 console, Activision today announced it would unveil two titles for Sony's next-generation gaming system at E3 this Thursday. The titles, Street Lethal and Gunslinger, are the first to be announced in Activision's PS2 slate. The company has more than a dozen games for the console in various stages of development. Street Lethal and Gunslinger are expected to be available next spring.

Street Lethal is a racing offering that seats people behind the wheel of next-generation concept cars. Users compete in numerous no-holds barred races through the streets of 10 interactive city environments, including London and Paris. Secret cars, courses and other hidden bonuses can be found as gamers progress through the racing circuit. Additionally, people can create their own custom concept cars. Street Lethal also features real-time car damage and deformation that affects handling.

Gunslinger is a third-person action game that allows people to build their character into a hero or an outlaw in the Wild West. Assuming the role of a gunslinger that has been wronged at the hand of an evil land baron, users hone their shooting abilities and gamble to earn money as they search for revenge. People choose behaviors that establish their reputation as either a hero or an outlaw. Offering distinct missions depending on the character path, Gunslinger challenges gamers to seize stagecoaches, face down other gunfighters, gamble in high-priced card games and rescue prisoners from town jails as they build their abilities and acquire new combat options. Such aptitudes as fast draw, two-handed pistol fighting, horse riding and gambling must be mastered in order to survive.
