We can start an "A&P sin A&P" thread now<gg>
2. Moderated Discussion

When creating a New Subject, the originator will also have the option to classify the New Subject as a Moderated Subject. In short, a Moderated Subject allows the originator to prevent other specific members from posting messages in that particular Subject, sort of like a Subject-wide ignore. All Moderated Subjects will be denoted as such on the main Subject Page, and the Subject originator has the final say on blocking members from a specific Subject.

All active members can start Moderated Subjects - except levy, since that kind of power in the wrong hands could be dangerous. (levy, you can too, but Quigley made me say that.) All kidding aside, I am sure that there will be some lively debate on this feature. I am equally confident that Silicon Investor members will use this feature wisely and for its intended purpose.

IMPORTANT NOTE: (Yes, another one.) The Subject originator must decide at the time that a Subject is started whether the Subject is to be Moderated or Unmoderated. The Subject originator may add or delete names from the "blocked" list on a Moderated Subject at any time. Unmoderated threads cannot be switched to Moderated threads, so if you wish to host a Moderated discussion, you will need to start a new Subject. However, given that this is a new feature, the Community Admin team will entertain (although not necessarily grant) requests, between now and the end of May 2000, to switch existing threads to Moderated threads. Decisions by the Community Admin team to do so (or not), will be made on a case-by-case basis, and will be final.

Note to Classic SI users: With respect to "blocked" members on a Moderated Thread, this feature will work the same in both Classic SI and the standard SI formats. However, setting up or modifying a Moderated Subject must be done using the standard SI interface. Then, you can return to the Classic SI format option, if you so choose.

I'm still holding JBL also. I recently bought back into ISLD. It's been pretty nice recently.
