Mandy said something that I think has short-term neutral/negative implications but I think is a long-term positive for the stock.
What do I mean? The forward looking guidance was.... how should I say...."very Canadian" in tone ... not too flashy and cautious. (don't slam me cause I'm a hockey puck too eh).
One guy even suggested Mandy was sandbaging the street. But even when pressed later by others they were happy to walk away leaving no better than 20% earnings growth as guidance. That won't help the stock any today because that much (amybe more) is already discounted, but I was glad to hear Mandy acknowledge Mitel's horrendous track record of missing their numbers and he stated that this will not happen again. So of course he is sandbaging and that is frankly a better long-term strategy in my view.

BCS - It will be interesting to see the post mortem on this aspect of the call. I heard (in my mind only) that the group will be split it is just a matter of timing. ie. with the major changes in the landscape to IP PBX, the two business' combined do currently produce some strategic advantages. I get the sense that timing of a spin-off would be 12-18 months out.
Even though I have been a proponent of spliting the company up, I am resolved to this outcome and maybe even swayed to believe that some time is necessary for the IPEra and applications side to make a market impact before making a move.

Because the market is generaly ugly I'll sit on the sidelines and watch for a while, but I liked what I heard for the L-T and I will re-load at some point over the summer.
