JDN - if you don't like CompUSA you can go to OfficeMAX, Staples, or even Radio Shack... After those other posts I looked at the CPQ web site for the Armada line and there are some great products there also - The DELL Inspirion 3800 looks like an interesting package also - I'm not much on colorful computers though. However, note that it also has only 32MB RAM, and is short a few other "standard" features. By the time you put together what I regard as a decent system you're well over $2K.
