Great point, Lof and ed. It's funny, I knew earlier this spring that the market was a bull trader's fantasyland and took full advantage. I also knew it had to end. The point is to know when to change your strategy and not be disheartened by losses. Take them, learn from your mistakes, and move on.

The past few weeks have helped me hone my cc-writing and shorting skills, for which I'm grateful.

loffy...discipline very important, as is a change of perception of technical indicators.....vix was mentioned above 35, indicating oversold...but the 25-35 benchmark range was in a fairly upward bias year as 1999....selling climaxes could generate a 60% as in october 1998.

too much bullish sentiment exists in a bearish acting market, until there is a confluence and confirmation i would be very cautious.
