FFIV is wrongly picked out by sellers who don't understand. Read this from Yahoo: Re: F5 (FFIV)

F5 is viewed as a 'software developer', not an infrastructure hardware manufacturer. They are not building intelligent switches, just intelligent software and hardware (PC's) that run them. Their revenues are not that attractive, only little more than $23 million last quarter. I think they are a great company, and would make a great long position now at the lower prices.

Arrowpoint builds intelligent switches... therefore, they compete more directly with Alteon and to lesser extent Foundry, who are market valued similarly. And if you look at Alteon, that company's fundamentals don't look all that attractive for a 'well-established' company.
