Many margin players were cleaned out, which was healthy for the market. But the main fund managers said specifically that weekend that few redemptions came in. The Naz volume on the Monday was high and equal to the Friday. So I am guessing that a lot of shares were sold in a dump and bought back when the market bounced the next week.

I just don't think the funds will sell like that again unless they start to get redemptions first. Then they have no choice, of course.

All in all, the investing world is a lot calmer than it might have been. Don't forget the market hasn't been negative YTD like this for several years. Most folks are coping.
