Hi Jean - I walk a fine line here between Canadians and Republicans on the thread. I don't think JDN thought it was so funny. I should know better than to joke about gender bending with a GW Bush supporter. <g> On a lighter note I see where the Heinz company wants to merge with Best Foods. They would OWN the Thousand Island salad dressing market! (something to think about) --- Happy Cinco de Mayo, Jean. -JCJ

P.S. Socialized medicine means we hand over 50% of our salaries over in taxes.... No fun !

In some threads here it's been claimed that Canada's medical system was just adored by everyone. I found this in a recent IBD:

Numerically Speaking:

79%: Share of Canadians in survey who said the would like to see "fundamental" or "complete" rebuilding of their government-run health-care system.

79%: Share of Americans who say they'd like to see "fundamental" or "complete" changes.

56%: Share of Canadians in 1990 Harvard University study expressing satisfaction with government-run health care.

20%: Share of Canadians in 1998 expressing satisfaction with government-run health care.
