Hello Yaacov. Well, when it comes to Dell, the pain in the neck should have been a little less today. gg. My pain in the neck is WCOM. It has stagnated and will probably not do much until the merger is completed. Just like AOL. At least I don't have to wait for CPQ.
Did you see what WLA is doing?

I am glad I put this article about Intel on. It worked. Just kidding. But Intel did great today.
Cappiello is a money manager and a regular on Wall Street Week with L. Ruckheyser. I am sure you heard of Louis?

CPQ. I am with you. I generally hold my long term positions long term but when it comes to fundamental changes, I will change. And the removal of Pfeiffer was a fundamental change to me even though lots of investors did not like him. I guess they like the new guy better. gg. I heard this 2 year time horizon for a sustainable move in CPQ.

Our President was all over the TV today hailing the great employment numbers. And our Labor Secretary had nothing but good things to say about it also. She mentioned again, she did the same thing last time when we had the employment numbers, that our work force can be expanded by teaching old dogs new tricks. Meaning, updating job skills and providing child care. I guess child care in every work place. And retirees will join the work force also now that you can make extra money without losing some of your social sec. benefits. To make a long story short, I guess the President etc. is getting a little frustrated with his newly reappointed Greenspan. Nobody wants to kill a good economy and a great technical revolution, but our FED seems to be determined to do so. Maybe the FED will come to its senses soon. Inflation is almost non existent, no matter what the pundits say. Yeah, productivity has slowed this time around but all in all it's still great. I have no idea why the FED wants to fix what's not broken.

The weather was absolutely great in FLA. Not too hot, not too cold, just right. The FED should read that story.

Umm. They knocked my ARBA and EMLX down at the end but left VRSN alone this time. I guess you read that trader story I put on yesterday?

Yaacov. CPQ and other PC makers. News out of Hamburg on Saturday: The first 3 months of 2000. Sales of PC's went up in Europe by 6 percent compared to the same period last year but profits were down by 4 percent. Price wars. Data provided by Dataquest.

CPQ lost market share from 16.2 to 14.1 and Fujitsu/Siemens also lost market share.

Dell and HWP gained market share.

So about your question: What are we going to do with our pain in the neck stocks: AOL, Dell and Msft? I guess we hold them? Dell is gaining market share, Msft will go up again and AOL will do alright once the merger is near or approved. So, all you have to do now is decide on CPQ. And you already decided on that. Long term holding.

Have a nice Sunday. You should be up by now while I will turn in.
