Dear Charles and all: Watched Mike R. (CEO of EMC) on CNBC at 7ish last night. As usual he didnt mention SUNW as one of his competitors BUT after he was on they had that Mulonivich (sp?) analyst on. He basically supported what Mike had to say about EMC BUT he also said SUNW is really working hard on storage and he felt they too were a competitor to EMC. This is important to me at least as I do feel storage is likely to take center stage in the future, whether they share it with servers or not, I dont know, but I like to have the bases covered in any event. I've been using and doing sys admin on Sun equipment for almost ten years. They always ship high quality hardware and software and as far as I know, the clone companies have not fared very well. I just wish I had the foresight ( and money ) to invest in SUN ten years ago! Oh, well. I have some shares now and I'm keeping them. I would like to see my holdings double soon through a split. That would be nice.
BTW, with these latest damaging viruses, does anyone agree that people might be more likely to buy UNIX in the future versus Microslop?
