You mean the profitless dot-coms that are coming online at the rate of one every 15 minutes?!


Thanks for proving my point. .coms are end points and do not represent infrastructure in the purest sense of the term. They represent resources on the net and yes, there are too many of them. BUT, we are long way from being able to deliver the multiservice broadband environment that each home and business will have throughout the world which will allow you to purchase voice, video, and internet service all from one provider on one bill. Also being able to provision new services over that same connection or for your gas or electric provider to gather information on home/business usage down that same connection.

INfrastructure is not .Coms. LOL!

FWIW IBM failed because they didn't recognize the importance of the PC. CSCO has succeeded in re-making itself constantly. FOlks think CSCO is a router company but revenues come mainly from non-router sources. Do you have any idea where CSCO's product reside? What cable service or DSL service do you have? You're probably on a CSCO network as we speak....
