Actually he didn't do anything wrong, he bought before he new the outcome, and that's just speculation. As for the stock moving up everyone bought into the idea that it would work.

DismalScientist: I don't watch Chicago Hope...why watch a show about the Cubs when I've got the Red Sox? Anyway, I don't know what Garner did or didn't do, but to me James Garner will always be Maverick. The notion of anyone "hauling" him off is cuckoo. He'd talk his way out of it. (Lee)
