lps5,

"... knock a guy unconscious with an uppercut?"

last guy i remember doing that was mike weaver. dropped the guy on the spot, in the corner, up against the ring post, with a perfect uppercut. or was it weaver who got caught? hahaha! but it was right at the very end of the fight, and whoever landed the devastating uppercut was way behind in the fight. help me out on this.... who was the darn opponent?

do you remember john 'big john' tate getting clobbered and turning his back and literally hopping/running away, and the opponent chasing him and hitting him on the back of the head to send tate pitching forward to hit the canvas like a big oak tree? jeez, who was that opponent?

anyway, johnny tapia (47-1-2, 25 ko's) is on showtime tonight. his opponent, javier torres (32-14-8, 8 ko's), doesn't look too dangerous. seems like tapia usually fights tougher opposition. johnny is ever the showman. one minute he's swarming all over his opponent in an angry barrage and the next moment he may be kissing the guy on the forehead in the middle of the round (i saw this!).

:)
