With the tremendous downward pressure on component counts, both desktop and enterprise, plus the HTCH dominance story not playing out, its hard to see any reasonable levels of profitability at least until consumer drives become quite substantial. I'm not holding my breath. -Z

Last fall they had two paths of potential success....
1. Increasing ASP's from migrating conventional product into TSA product. Would have added revenue even with eroding units.
2. Convincing Seagate to get with the HTCH game plan. Would have added revenue and units.

The count is no balls, two strikes.

Its going to be a tough year for them....they need to be north of 140 million units/qtr and I don't see it in 2000.
