I have Outlook express, and this solution doesn't seem to apply to it as I get no message after I change the zone restriction. Any ideas?

I couldn't agree with him more.

Running a network myself, and seeing some of the flaws that Outlook 2000 shows is pretty scary for such a popular office software application.

If it weren't for some custom firewall filters and email policies set up in advance, I'm sure we would have been hit with something.

thanks for the great info, appro.

do you have any knowledge of which features this refers to...

"Computer users can turn off the settings in Outlook that allow this kind of attack, but only at the expense of losing advanced features."? (from the cnet article)

:)
