<<If we already knew our children will not be in any way follow our beliefs or convictions, I wonder how many people will still have children. >>

Over 50% of the school age children right here in Milwaukee Wisconsin drop out of school before they make it to 10th grade. This situation is happening in every part of our own country. This strongly suggests to me that the majority of people don't have children to follow there own beliefs and that they more or less have children simply from learned behavior or other more dysfunctional reasons.

Cuba, like many other communist countries clearly suppress and brainwash there populations and most of the communist regimes pillage there countries of most everything they have.
Could a parent in a communist country like Cuba have children with any other intent than for them to have a better life than they themselves have??? Our country was built on the foundation of freedom and offers this to anyone who makes it to our shores. This is being taken away from Elian right now.

In my opinion if Janet Reno dares to venture into this arena we would all be better off cheering her on while she combats real issues like.

Smuggling children from 3rd world countries into this country
Smuggling children out of this country.
Really fighting the war on drugs.
A spouse having there kids ripped from there life because the other spouse can afford a better attorney.

It offends me when my tax dollars are used to remove that boy from that house in a more careless mannor than was used to dismantel the economy of the people that voted Slobodan Milosivic into office and cheered him on while he showed us that the disgusting things we fought againts in WWII can still happen today.

I find it disheartining that the majority of the american people cheer Reno on while she spends our tax dollars to take away the opportunity from Elian that we all have benefitted from. It also bothers me greatly that they are with our tax dollars brainwashing that child right now, here in our country to prepare him to go back to Cuba.

<<They have the choice to change once we have already taught them right from wrong. Freedom is basically an illusion.>>

I disagree with you here too. I do not believe that they do have any choice at all to change anything in Cuba and trying to do that in Cuba can be painful. And one more thing. Freedom is not an illusion. There are parts of the world where it does not exist and we know where one of those place is but freedom is not an illusion. Not in this country for anyone who really understands the sacrifices made by our own military veterans that fought in both world wars and what they really fought for and against.

I want you to know that I am not trying to pick a fight with you. I enjoy reading your posts on other threads regularly. Last Shadow's thread if memory serves me correctly. But here I am disagreeing with you and I hope you understand it for just that.
