John, OK, but I've personally yet to see Chambers' prediction of 3X in 10 years. Instead, I've heard him say several times that he sees growth as at least 30% per year. Maybe he only meant that rate for the next one or two years, I don't know, but I doubt it.

Just thinking about it, what other company has taken advantage of an extreme revolutionary event, like Cisco with the Internet?

IBM with computers? No. In the formative days, computer customers were strictly big companies, with no direct growth influence by consumers. Computer growth was gradual.

Intel with chips? Somewhat, but not until the PC part kicked in.

Microsoft? Closest thing, because the consumer was involved since day one, and the PC became a huge success.

The Internet is growing much faster than the PC did, with still a doubling of connected hosts every year. Cisco has the biggest opportunity ever.

I guess I should end the Cisco stuff here. LSI is very good too!
